Which should I use?

Which pharmacy billing software should I use?

If you run one retail medical store — one counter, perhaps the owner's phone — use Bilzy Pharmacy: batch and expiry, loose tablets, Schedule H1 register and GST returns for ₹699 a year, on Windows, Android or a browser, working offline, with phone support in Hindi. If you run a chain on shared stock or a distribution business that needs a full ERP with accounting, use an ERP built for that. That is the whole answer; the checklist below is how to check it against your own shop.

Answer by the kind of shop

  • Single retail medical store: Bilzy Pharmacy. ₹699 a year, everything a chemist is asked for, nothing to learn.
  • A shop that bills from the phone too: Bilzy Pharmacy, the PC + phone plan at ₹999 a year — one account, both devices, at the same time.
  • A new shop with no PC yet: Bilzy Pharmacy on the phone at ₹499 a year; add the PC later on the same account.
  • Two or more branches on one stock: not Bilzy today — one shop per account. Look at a multi-branch ERP.
  • A distributor or wholesaler needing ledgers, accounting and salesman routes inside one ERP: a full pharma ERP such as Marg. (Bilzy covers wholesale billing and Tally export, not full accounting.)

The checklist — ask any software these

Bilzy Pharmacy answers yes to the first six, ₹699 with nothing added to the seventh, and a person in Hindi or English to the eighth.

  • Does it hold stock batch-wise with expiry, and does the bill pick the earliest-expiry batch by itself?
  • Can I sell 3 tablets from a strip, and is the profit worked per tablet?
  • Is the Schedule H1 register built from the bill?
  • Does the GST return it makes agree with the invoices it printed?
  • Can I make a bill without the mouse, with a queue in front of me?
  • Does it keep working when the internet drops?
  • What is the price in the second year — is there an AMC, a per-PC charge, a visit fee?
  • Who answers the phone, and in which language?

What Bilzy Pharmacy does

  • Batch-wise stock with expiry and MRP; billing picks the earliest-expiry batch first (FEFO)
  • Cut-strip selling — 3 tablets from a 10-tablet strip, priced, stocked and profited per tablet
  • Purchase bill entry that becomes stock as you type it, with scheme, free goods and trade discount worked into the cost
  • Schedule H1 register with doctor, registration number and patient details, as Rule 65 requires
  • GST invoices with HSN and rate-wise summary; GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B as JSON for the offline tool
  • Quick Bill: a picture grid of medicines you tap, with "t pill"-style search that finds T-Pill
  • Parties in one place — every customer and supplier, bill-wise collection, statement, export
  • Expiry, short-expiry and low-stock reports you can walk the shelves with
  • Sale-wise and day-wise profit, after discount and after the GST you claim back
  • Loyalty points, salesman commission, refill reminders on WhatsApp
  • Thermal 58 mm / 80 mm and A4 / A5 printing across fourteen invoice designs
  • Tally export (XML vouchers) for the accountant
  • The national list of 3.3 lakh medicines kept on the PC itself, so it works with no internet
  • Updates itself on the Windows PC; nothing to reinstall

Questions chemists ask

Which software is used in pharmacies in India?▾

Single retail chemists mostly use a billing product built for pharmacy — Bilzy Pharmacy is one — while distributors and chains tend to use a full pharma ERP such as Marg. The difference is scope: an ERP does accounting and multi-branch; a billing product does the counter, the stock and the compliance at a fraction of the price and effort.

Should a small medical store buy an ERP?▾

Usually not. A single counter needs batch, expiry, loose sale, H1 and GST — not modules for warehouses and branches. Bilzy Pharmacy gives the counter what it needs for ₹699 a year and exports to Tally for the accountant.

Can I use it on mobile and PC together?▾

Yes — the PC + phone plan (₹999 a year) runs the same account on both at once, with the stock in sync.

How much does Bilzy Pharmacy cost?▾

₹699 a year for the counter PC, ₹999 a year for the PC plus the owner's phone, or ₹2699 for three years paid once. Phone only is ₹499 a year. There is no monthly fee, no per-bill charge and no AMC. The first 7 days are free with no card.

Does it work without internet?▾

Yes. Billing, the medicine list and the reports all work offline — the 3.3 lakh-medicine list lives on the computer. Your data syncs to the cloud when the connection returns, and the same account opens on the phone and in a browser.

Can someone with no computer experience use it?▾

Yes. A bill is typed with the keyboard alone — medicine, batch, quantity, Enter — and the Quick Bill screen is a grid of medicine pictures you tap. Most shops bill on the first day without training; if anything is unclear, support answers on the phone in Hindi or English.

Is it free to download?▾

The Windows app, the Android app and the browser version are free to download and try. The full software is free for 7 days; after that one yearly payment covers every device on the account.

Can I move my medicines from another software?▾

Yes. Upload your medicine list or your old register as an Excel file and it becomes stock with batch and expiry. Opening balances for customers and suppliers can be brought in the same way.
