The short answer

To make a bill in a medical store, search the medicine by name, let the software pick the batch that expires first, enter the quantity in strips or loose tablets, add the doctor and patient when the medicine is Schedule H1, take cash, UPI or both, and print the bill with your drug licence number. Bilzy Pharmacy does all of this on the counter PC, the phone or a browser, carries a list of over 3 lakh medicines, works offline, and costs ₹699 a year for the Windows counter.

One bill updates batch-wise stock, the H1 register and the day book together, so the end of the day needs no second round of writing.

  • The batch that expires first should always leave first.

How to make a medical store bill on Bilzy Pharmacy

  1. 1

    Set up the shop

Install Bilzy Pharmacy on the counter PC, or open pharmacy.bilzy.in. Enter the shop name, GSTIN and drug licence number — they print on every bill.

  2. 2

    Bring your medicines in

Pick medicines from the built-in list of over 3 lakh, or upload your list or a purchase bill from Excel. Batch, expiry, MRP and cost come in with the purchase.

  3. 3

    Search at the counter

Type a few letters of the name. The medicine shows with its stock, rack and MRP; pick it.

  4. 4

    Let the batch pick itself

Bilzy Pharmacy picks the batch that expires first. Change it only if the patient needs a particular batch.

  5. 5

Sell a strip or loose tablets

Enter strips, or cut the strip and sell tablets. Price, stock and profit are worked out per tablet.

  6. 6

Add the doctor and patient for H1

For a Schedule H1 medicine, add the doctor with the registration number and the patient’s details. The entry goes into the H1 register from the bill.

  7. 7

    Take the payment

Cash, UPI, or Cash + UPI on the same bill — or leave it on the customer’s account.

  8. 8

    Print or send

Print on a thermal roll or A4, or send the bill on WhatsApp.

The Schedule H1 register, kept for you

Schedule H1 medicines — certain antibiotics, anti-TB medicines and habit-forming drugs — must be recorded in a separate register with the prescriber’s details, the patient’s name, and the medicine and quantity supplied, and the register must be kept for three years.

Bilzy Pharmacy builds that register from the bill. Its serial number never changes, a back-dated bill does not reshuffle it, two H1 medicines on one bill make two entries, and a return shows as a minus — so the register agrees with what actually left the shop.

Medicine is trust in a strip. Every strip should be traceable.

Counter habits of a well-run chemist

Enter purchases the day they arrive

Batch and expiry are only right if every purchase bill goes in when the stock does.

Walk the short-expiry list monthly

Return what will not sell before it expires, while the distributor still takes it back.

A rack on every medicine

A new helper finds the strip without calling you away from a patient.

H1 details every single time

An empty doctor field is a register that will not stand up to an inspection.

Check the day book nightly

Cash and UPI matched every night keep the month end quiet.

Reorder by real cost

Questions shopkeepers ask

How do I make a bill in a medical store?

Search the medicine, let the earliest-expiry batch be picked, enter strips or loose tablets, add the doctor and patient for Schedule H1 medicines, take cash, UPI or both, and print the bill with your drug licence number. Bilzy Pharmacy does this on Windows, Android and in a browser.

Can I sell loose tablets from a strip?

Yes. Cut the strip at the counter and sell the tablets. Price, stock and profit are worked out per tablet.

Does Bilzy Pharmacy keep the Schedule H1 register?

Yes. The register is built from the bills, with the doctor, registration number and patient details entered at billing.

What is the GST on medicines?

Most medicines carry 5% GST since 22 September 2025, and 33 specified life-saving medicines carry none. Check the HSN of each medicine.

Is Bilzy Pharmacy only for small medical stores?

No. It is priced for a single counter and built for a busy one: batch-wise stock with earliest-expiry-first billing, the Schedule H1 register, trade rates for firms, a reorder list that compares what each distributor really charged, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B files, and staff logins with roles.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Billing, the list of over 3 lakh medicines and the reports work offline on the Windows app, and everything syncs when the line is back.

Can I bring my medicines from my old software?

Yes. Upload the medicine list or a purchase bill from Excel and it becomes stock with batch and expiry. Customer and supplier balances come in the same way.
