The short answer
To bill in a footwear shop, add each model once with its sizes and colours as variants, put a barcode label on every box, and at the counter pick the exact size so that pair comes off stock. Footwear valued up to ₹2,500 a pair carries 5% GST, and above ₹2,500 it carries 18%. Bilzy does this on Android and Windows, handles exchanges against the original bill, and costs ₹999 a year with a free plan to start.
Because stock is kept size by size, you see which sizes of a model are left before you reorder — and buying the sizes that did not sell is the costliest mistake a shoe shop makes.

A pair in the wrong size is not stock. It is rent you pay for a box.

Fit is personal. The bill should be quick.
How to bill in a footwear shop on Bilzy
- 1
Switch on sizes and colours
Turn on variants in item settings, so one model can hold every size and colour.
- 2
Add a model with its sizes
Add “Leather chappal — model K12” once, with sizes 6 to 10 and its colours, each size with its own stock.
- 3
Label every box
Print barcode labels with the model and the price, and stick one on the end of each box, facing out on the rack.
- 4
Put stock in size by size
When a lot comes in, add the quantity that arrived for each size, so stock is right from the first day.
- 5
Bill the exact pair
Scan the label or search the model, pick the size, and that pair comes off stock.
- 6
Take payment and print
Cash, UPI, card, or cash and UPI together. Print the bill or send it on WhatsApp.
- 7
Exchange a size
Make a return against the bill so the pair goes back into stock, then bill the size that fits.
GST on footwear
Since 22 September 2025 the rate depends on the value of each pair.
| Value of each pair | GST | Usually covers |
|---|---|---|
| Up to ₹2,500 | 5% | Chappals, school shoes, most everyday sandals and shoes |
| Above ₹2,500 | 18% | Premium leather shoes and higher-priced sports shoes |
Rates as they stand after the GST Council changes that took effect on 22 September 2025. The rate follows the exact HSN code and, for some goods, the price — check yours on cbic-gst.gov.in before you bill.

Rules of thumb for a shoe shop
Reorder by size, not by model
A model with forty pairs left can still be out of size 8 — and size 8 is what people ask for.
Keep the end sizes lean
The smallest and largest sizes sell slowly. Buy fewer of them and reorder faster.
Labels facing out
A label you can scan on the rack saves a walk to the store room for every bill.
Clear before the season turns
Put last season’s models on a scheme with an end date, before new stock needs the shelf.
Listen to the returns
If one model keeps coming back for a bigger size, it runs small. Tell customers, and tell the supplier.
Enter every lot
Size-wise stock is only right if every box that arrives is put in. Do it the day it comes.

Questions shopkeepers ask
What is the GST on shoes and chappals in 2026?
Footwear valued up to ₹2,500 a pair carries 5% GST, and pairs above ₹2,500 carry 18%, since 22 September 2025. Check the HSN of your goods.
Can Bilzy keep stock size-wise?
Yes. Each model is one item with its sizes and colours as variants, and every size keeps its own stock.
How do I exchange a pair for another size?
Make a return against the original bill so the pair goes back into stock, then bill the new size. The refund or credit is recorded against the customer.
Is Bilzy only for small shops?
No. It is priced so a small shop can afford it, and built for a busy one: staff logins with roles, stock in more than one godown, wholesale rates and credit limits, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B files, and billing that keeps going when the internet does not. The low price is how it is sold — one yearly plan, bought online, with no AMC — not a smaller product.
Does Bilzy work without internet?
Yes. Bills are made and saved on the phone or the PC, and go up to your account when the connection comes back.
Can I use it on my phone and my computer together?
Yes, on one account. Items, parties and bills are the same on both, and stock is moved by the server so two counters cannot sell the same last piece. Phone + Windows is ₹1,299 a year.
Can my staff bill without seeing my profit?
Yes. Each staff login gets only the screens you tick. Purchase cost and profit are their own permission.
