The short answer
To bill in a clothing store, keep each design as one item with its sizes and colours as variants, print a barcode tag for every piece, and at the counter pick the exact size and colour so that piece comes off stock. Charge GST by the value of each piece: 5% up to ₹2,500 and 18% above it. Bilzy does this on Windows and Android, handles returns and exchanges against the original bill, and costs ₹999 a year with a free plan to start.
Stock shows by size and colour, so the next order to your supplier is for the sizes that sold out — not the ones already on the rack.

Fashion changes every season. Your stock count should not be a guess.
The right size on the rack is a sale. The wrong one is money sitting still.
Exchanges are part of the business. Make them take one minute.
GST on clothes, as it stands now
Since 22 September 2025 there are two rates for readymade garments, and the line between them is the value of each piece.
| Value of each piece | GST | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Up to ₹2,500 | 5% | Readymade garments and made-ups |
| Above ₹2,500 | 18% | Readymade garments and made-ups |
| Fabric sold by the metre | 5% | Most cotton and man-made fabrics |
Rates as they stand after the GST Council changes that took effect on 22 September 2025. The rate follows the exact HSN code and, for some goods, the price — check yours on cbic-gst.gov.in before you bill.
How to bill in a clothing shop on Bilzy
- 1
Switch on sizes and colours
In item settings, turn on variants, so an item can carry sizes and colours.
- 2
Add a design with its variants
Add “Cotton kurta — design 214” once, then its sizes (S, M, L, XL) and colours, each with its own stock and, if you like, its own price.
- 3
Print a tag for every piece
Print barcode labels with the name and price and put one on each piece. When a price changes, change it once and reprint.
- 4
Bill at the counter
Scan the tag or search the design, then pick the size and colour. That exact piece comes off stock.
- 5
Keep the GST rate right
Set each item’s rate for its price — 5% up to ₹2,500 a piece, 18% above — so the bill charges it without anyone working it out at the counter.
- 6
Take payment and print
Cash, UPI, card, or cash and UPI together. Print the bill or send it on WhatsApp.
- 7
Handle an exchange
Make a return against the original bill. The piece goes back into stock and the refund or credit is on record; then bill the new size.

Questions shopkeepers ask
What is the GST rate on clothes in 2026?
Readymade garments valued up to ₹2,500 a piece carry 5% GST, and pieces above ₹2,500 carry 18%. This has applied since 22 September 2025. Check the exact HSN of your goods.
Can Bilzy handle sizes and colours?
Yes. Each design is one item with sizes and colours as variants, each with its own stock and, if you want, its own price.
Can salesmen get commission?
Yes. Each staff member can carry a commission rate, kept with their login.
How do I handle an exchange?
Make a return against the original bill. The piece goes back into stock and the refund or credit is recorded against the customer; then bill the new piece.
Is Bilzy only for small shops?
No. It is priced so a small shop can afford it, and built for a busy one: staff logins with roles, stock in more than one godown, wholesale rates and credit limits, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B files, and billing that keeps going when the internet does not. The low price is how it is sold — one yearly plan, bought online, with no AMC — not a smaller product.
Does Bilzy work without internet?
Yes. Bills are made and saved on the phone or the PC, and go up to your account when the connection comes back.
Can I use it on my phone and my computer together?
Yes, on one account. Items, parties and bills are the same on both, and stock is moved by the server so two counters cannot sell the same last piece. Phone + Windows is ₹1,299 a year.
Can my staff bill without seeing my profit?
Yes. Each staff login gets only the screens you tick. Purchase cost and profit are their own permission.
