The short answer
A boutique or saree shop bills in two steps: an order with an advance when the customer chooses, and the final bill on delivery. In Bilzy, make a quotation with the saree, the blouse stitching and charges like fall and pico, record the advance, and turn the quotation into the bill on delivery — the advance is taken off and only the balance is asked for. It runs on Android and Windows and costs ₹999 a year, with a free plan to start.
Sarees and most fabrics carry 5% GST, readymade blouses and dresses follow the ₹2,500 rule for garments, and stitching sits on the bill as its own charge, so the customer sees what she is paying for.

Every bride remembers her boutique. Make sure your records remember her order.
An advance taken is a promise made. Keep it where it cannot be lost.
Beautiful work deserves a beautiful bill.
From the first visit to delivery
- 1
She chooses
Saree, blouse design and colour, written on a quotation.
- 2
Advance taken
Recorded against the order, in cash or UPI.
- 3
Work is done
The order waits, with its charges, until delivery.
- 4
Delivery
The quotation becomes the bill; the advance comes off.
- 5
Balance paid
Taken now, or left on her account if she is a regular.
How to take a boutique order and bill it on Bilzy
- 1
Save the charges you use
Add charges such as blouse stitching, fall and pico, lining and express work, with their usual prices. You pick them in one tap later.
- 2
Make the quotation
Start a quotation with the customer’s name and phone. Add the saree or fabric, then the charges for the work.
- 3
Record the advance
Enter the advance and how it was paid. Print the quotation or share it, so she has the order in writing too.
- 4
Turn it into the bill
When the work is ready, open the quotation and make it a bill. The advance is already taken off, so the bill asks only for the balance.
- 5
Take the balance
Cash, UPI, both together, or on her account.
- 6
Hand over the bill
Print it on A4 or a thermal roll, or send it as a PDF on WhatsApp.

| Readymade blouse or dress | Designer blouse, ₹1,800 | 5% up to ₹2,500 a piece, 18% above |
| Work charges | Blouse stitching, fall and pico | A charge of its own on the bill |
| Advance | ₹5,000 at the order | Taken off what is due on delivery |
| Balance | What remains | Paid on delivery, or kept on account |
Rates as they stand after the GST Council changes that took effect on 22 September 2025. The rate follows the exact HSN code and, for some goods, the price — check yours on cbic-gst.gov.in before you bill. Ask your accountant how to charge GST on stitching and other work.

Small habits that keep a boutique’s orders straight
Take a real advance
An advance of a third or more keeps orders serious, and the fabric gets bought on time.
Photograph the design
Keep a photo of the chosen design on your phone, named with the customer and the date.
Confirm in writing
Share the quotation after taking the advance. A written order avoids arguments on delivery day.
Show the work as its own line
Stitching and finishing on separate lines tell the customer exactly what she is paying for.
Look at open orders every month
An advance that has sat for months is a customer to call, not a figure to forget.
Keep regulars on account
For customers who buy through the season, keep dues on their account and send one statement.

Questions shopkeepers ask
How do I take an advance for a boutique order?
Make a quotation in Bilzy and enter the advance and how it was paid. When you turn the quotation into a bill, the advance is taken off and only the balance is asked for.
Can I add stitching charges on the bill?
Yes. Save charges like blouse stitching or fall and pico once, then add them to any quotation or bill. They print as lines of their own.
What is the GST on sarees?
Sarees and most fabrics carry 5% GST. Readymade garments carry 5% up to ₹2,500 a piece and 18% above. Check the HSN of your exact goods.
Is Bilzy only for small shops?
No. It is priced so a small shop can afford it, and built for a busy one: staff logins with roles, stock in more than one godown, wholesale rates and credit limits, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B files, and billing that keeps going when the internet does not. The low price is how it is sold — one yearly plan, bought online, with no AMC — not a smaller product.
Does Bilzy work without internet?
Yes. Bills are made and saved on the phone or the PC, and go up to your account when the connection comes back.
Can I use it on my phone and my computer together?
Yes, on one account. Items, parties and bills are the same on both, and stock is moved by the server so two counters cannot sell the same last piece. Phone + Windows is ₹1,299 a year.
Can my staff bill without seeing my profit?
Yes. Each staff login gets only the screens you tick. Purchase cost and profit are their own permission.
